Now I Lay Me Down

The First Presbyterian Church has developed Now I Lay Me Down, a ministry that provides beds and bedding to children in Monroe County who do not have one. Members of our congregation volunteer their time to organize the program and deliver the beds.

"What do you like best about your new bed?" asked a member of our church to a young child.
"It's warm," he replied.

As of February 2008, we have delivered over 740 beds to children in the Monroe area. Singles or bunk beds are delivered as requests are filled. If you know a child that needs a bed, call the church office at (734) 242-1545 or email us. We provide beds for children of all ages.

Every child who receives a bed also receives a teddy bear, a quote from Mother Teresa, a poem, and a Bible.

The Sandman and the Moon

Do you know the Man in the Moon?
He comes out at night just for you.
He sings a lullaby, way up high
Calling the Sandman to come by
And dance to the moon man's tune
The Sandman jumps all around,
Throwing sweet dream dust to the ground
